Against the backdrop of the reform and development of China’s higher education system, and leveraging the current new economy and new ideas, School of Modern Service Management (hereinafter referred to as School of Management) is a high-starting-point applied industry institute with high starting point. Adhering to the principle of ‘integrating science and technology into management and improving management efficiency’, aligning with the era of cloud computing, big data, the internet of Things, mobile web and artificial intelligence, and oriented towards the development of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle and Chengdu Tianfu New Area, our school has become a key base for cultivating multidisciplinary, applied business talent in the digital economy field in Sichuan Province.

The school has developed a disciplinary strategy of ‘one core area, four branches, and multiple points’. With a focus on management disciplines and the integration of multiple subjects, it has six undergraduate majors, including Big Data Management and Application, Marketing, Logistics Management, Tourism Management, Rural Regional Development and Human Resource Management; as well as three three-year diploma programs in Tourism Management, Marketing, and Chain Operation Management.

We place great importance on interdisciplinary integration as a core strategy for academic development. In response to the demands of high-end service industries and the need for professional competencies, we integrate teaching resources, optimize the discipline structure and objectives, and promote better interaction between industries and discipline. To date, the school has completed the construction of four college-level specialty programs, including Intelligent Logistics, Leisure Tourism Management, Modern Farm Management and Human Service Outsourcing.

In terms of talent training, with a focus on employment orientation, the school has introduced high-end industry resources and continues to innovate in talent training methods. Adopting the strategy of 'school-enterprise cooperation and the combination of work and learning,' the school cultivates applied talents through collaborative education programs, customized innovation programs, and talent training programs. Currently, the school has signed cooperation agreements with numerous enterprises, including Maersky Group, Jingdong Group, Sichuan Changhong Group, Suning Group, FamilyMart, Lizhan Logistics, Jiuzhai Paradise Intercontinental Hotel, Chengdu Renrui Group, Sichuan Xu Culture Tourism Group, and Mianyang Jiuzhou Group, and has established stable practice bases. The student employment rate exceeds 97%, which has been highly praised by students, parents, and employers alike.

The school has a group of highly experienced faculty members and strong research expertise. The faculty consists of 38 full-time teachers, including 8 PhDs and 28 master’s degree holders. All of them graduated from 985 and 211 universities in China, as well as renowned universities abroad. Among them, there is one professor and five associate professors, making up 30.6% of the total faculty. It includes one Famous Teacher of Sichuan Province, two experts in the Sichuan logistics database, two experts in Mianyang’s modern service industry project review, three experts in Mianyang’s e-commerce project review, and two experts on the Mianyang Decision Committee. In addition, many high-level professionals and industry leaders, as well as management experts, have been employed as training instructors.

The school is equipped with a provincial modern enterprise management experimental teaching center, a provincial technical skills master studio, three application-based research centers, multiple college-level enterprises, and skills workshops. Among them, the modern enterprise management experimental teaching center has established specialized training rooms, including an e-commerce training room, a barcode and logistics training room, an enterprise sandbox simulation training room, a human resources virtual simulation laboratory, a hotel management training room, and a guide training room, providing students with industry-relevant simulations and applications. Institutions such as the Research Center for Modern Circulation Economy (Mianyang Federation of Social Sciences Research Base), the Agricultural Product Brand Research Center, and the Modern Service Management Talent Evaluation Center provide a strong foundation for the integration of industry and education, student practice, achievement transformation, and talent development.

While fulfilling its teaching and research responsibilities, the school actively contributes to the local economic and social development. It has formed partnerships with the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Sichuan Provincial Logistics Office, the Mianyang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Mianyang Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Mianyang Development and Reform Bureau, Guangyuan Zhaohua District, the Shifang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Changhong Electric Group, and other organizations, carrying out project reviews, project planning, specialized training, and management consulting.

The school will adhere to the mottos of 'Promoting culture and martial arts, being sensitive to thinking and practice' and 'Being intelligent and practical, managing talent.' It will uphold the educational philosophy of high standards and quality, innovate talent development methods, optimize training objectives, and cultivate interdisciplinary talents who are proficient in business theory, advanced technology, data-driven thinking, and digital operations.
